In medical colleges the subject of Forensic Medicine and toxicology teaches the medical students how to handle Medico-legal cases including Post-mortem examinations, also it teaches the medical students about how to practice the medicine in accordance with the law of the land when they become the practitioners of Medicine. Keeping this goal in mind Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology NSC GMC Khandwa, we the faculties of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology NSC GMC Khandwa are committed to make the teaching in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology to be of the highest standards so that the final product as per new CBME curriculum, the IMG (Indian Medical Graduate) is up to the mark, simultaneously being globally relevant. Along with this our Department has keen interest in research. Not only faculty members but our UG students are also actively involved in research work. Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology also conducted the poster competition, MCQ Quiz competition, and SDL sessions for the benefit of the students. In this COVID-19 pandemic Department has done the challenging work of dead body management, keeping in mind the emotions of the relatives of the dead and dignified management of the dead body. Services provided by the department:- • MBBS Student teaching and research. • All the Postmortem Examinations and related activities in the mortuary located in the associated District hospital Khandwa are conducted by the department of Forensic Medicine • A Medicolegal report writing room has been set up in the department equipped with computer and printer for reporting the post-mortem work. The preparation of Post-Mortem Report is exclusively done on online MedLEaPR software as mandated by Madhya Pradesh Government. • We cater our Services of Postmortem Examination to our neighbouring districts of Khargone and Burhanpur when complicated cases referred from these districts to our Mortuary.
